If you have stumbled across ITV2’s Love Island while watching telly this summer you might have spotted a familiar face.
Former NETA rigging apprentice Sam Gowland is among the contestants looking for love on the reality TV show.
The 21-year-old from Thornaby is among a group of singletons placed in a luxury villa, in the hope of finding their ideal match.
With a host of challenges - to test the authenticity of their love - the show will see one winning couple in with the chance of sharing a £50,000 prize, or (as is the cut throat world of reality TV) they could go on to ditch their partner and take the cash for themselves.
It’s already been a bumpy ride for Teessider Sam, who was previously voted out of the show by his fellow islanders.
But last night saw the rigger make a return to the island following a public vote and it remains to be seen whether he will find love in the show’s remaining three weeks.
While Sam came to NETA in 2013 as a rigging apprentice through Hertel and went on to find success as a rigger with the international industrial services company, we take no responsibility for his dating credentials!
We wish Sam the best of luck for his remaining time on the island.
