A new era has begun at NETA as six scaffolding trainees became the first apprentice cohort to complete their training in the new £4.7m All Access Academy, based at Redcar and Cleveland College.

The lucky group commenced their CISRS Part 1 scaffolding training.

The apprentices, who are all different ages, and come from different locations, and backgrounds, were delighted to be doing their training in the brand-new facility.

Ben, of JMAC Scaffolding, said “It’s great. It’s more modern and will allow work on bigger scale projects.”

Similarly, Daniel, an apprentice with CS Scaffolding, said “It’s good, there is more space, and it’s built for purpose.”

The All Access Academy is 750 square metres in size and includes three purpose-built scaffolding training areas, enhancing NETA’s offer.   With a wide range of CISRS scaffolding courses available including COTS, Part 1, Part 2, advanced, basic and advanced inspection along with CPD, NETA has a history of quality delivery by industry experienced instructors, recognised by awarding organisation audits.  The new centre will enable NETA to continue to develop and expand its training offer further.

Jonathan, an apprentice for Barnsley-based business IBN Scaffolding, travelled from Leeds to do his 10-day training block at NETA. He told us “It’s nice, everything is brand new.”

With the launch of the All Access Academy, NETA is better positioned to support businesses and individuals with increased capacity from state of the art facilities.   

This first cohort marks the beginning of what is expected to be a new generation of scaffolders, equipped with the skills and experience to carry the industry forward.
